An overview of the newspapers that propose amendments to the criminal code

The text of the law, which plans to amend the Criminal Code, proposes the following most significant changes to this basic law in the area of criminal offenses and their sanctions:

The legal concept of the definition of necessary defense is being expanded, in such a way that after the law comes into force, the legal concept of necessary defense will also include actions taken with the aim of repelling an imminent illegal attack, which is how the time frame in which the actions of injured persons can be taken is extended under the concept of necessary defense;
There are changes in the way of determining criminal offenses for which a suspended sentence cannot be imposed, in such a way that instead of the determination that a suspended sentence cannot be imposed for crimes for which a prison sentence of 8 years or a heavier sentence can be imposed as a punishment , from now on, the definition takes the minimum measure of imprisonment that can be imposed on the perpetrator, in such a way that this measure includes all acts for which the minimum sentence of imprisonment is 2 years;
A tightening of the maximum prison sentence for Murder is foreseen, in such a way that the maximum prison sentence of 15 years is replaced by the possibility of imposing the maximum prison sentence, and even life imprisonment;
A tightening of the maximum prison sentence for Rape, Child Rape, and Sexual Intercourse with a Helpless person is foreseen, in such a way that the maximum prison sentence of 15 years is replaced by the possibility of imposing the maximum prison sentence, and even life imprisonment;
It is envisaged that the range of imprisonment for Sexual intercourse through Abuse of position will be increased, in such a way that the previous measure of imprisonment for the duration of 3 months to 3 years is replaced by the increased range of imprisonment for the duration of 6 months to 5 years of imprisonment;
It is envisaged that the range of imprisonment for Domestic Violence will be replaced by the previous measure of imprisonment, for the basic form of the crime, for the duration of 3 months to 3 years, with the increased range of imprisonment for the duration of 6 months to 5 years of imprisonment. with consequent tightening of the punishment for more serious forms of this crime;
The value of the material benefit for which the crime of Theft can be qualified as a crime of Petty Theft is changing, from the current maximum of RSD 5,000.00 to an increased amount of RSD 15,000.00;
It is envisaged that the range of imprisonment for the basic form of the Serious Criminal Offense against Public Traffic Safety will be replaced by a tougher range of imprisonment from 2 years to 10 years, while as a consequence of the aforementioned, the penalties for special qualified forms of this offense are also being made more stringent;
A new criminal offense is being introduced called Publication of material that advises the commission of a criminal offense. Within the scope of the offense, persons who publish such materials, as well as persons who access materials published in this way, will be punished;
A new criminal offense called Assault on a person employed in an educational institution is introduced, in which special enhanced criminal law protection is given to persons employed in educational services;
